January 25, 2007: The National Art Gallery and the Zimbabwe College of Music provide the setting and music for an unforgettable Valentines Day experience February 14.

Among these are Prudence Katomeni- Mbofana, Filbert Marova, Bob Nyabinde with backing instrumentation provided by Harare’s top Jazz outfit Summer Breeze. The event also features the Mbare Trio led by the Zimbabwe College of Music’s Friday Mbirimi.

The College also boasts of outstanding musician Joseph Garakara who will temporarily divert from his popular African pop rhythms to team up with his classmates to provide refreshing soul music. The college students, Garakara included, will sing such famous love songs by such U.S. greats as Nat King Cole, Sam Cooke, Stevie Wonder, Anita Baker and others, rehearsed and performed to the highest standards to provide a romantic atmosphere for the occasion.

Several professional dance couples have been invited and they will set the tempo for the rest of the “dancers” in what promises to be an exciting Valentines evening.

The entrance fee is $20,000 per person and an award awaits the best dressed individual during the occasion. Tickets are available at the Zimbabwe College of Music.

The event, which is supported by the U.S. Embassy in Harare, will coincide with the exhibition “Object of my Desire” by the National Art Gallery # # #
