United States Congressional Staff Delegation Visit Zimbabwe

Dr. Pearl-Alice Marsh and Mr. Malik Chaka, professional staff members of the U. S. House of Representatives International Relations Committee (HIRC), are on an official visit to Zimbabwe from March 20 – 25, 2005.
Responsible for advising the HIRC and members of the U. S. Congress on all issues related to Africa, Dr. March and Mr. Chaka will be visiting Harare and Bulawayo in order to asses the status of the upcoming Zimbabwean elections, current economic and health conditions as well as important bilateral issues between the United States and Zimbabwe.
While in Zimbabwe they will be meeting with government officials, representatives from the two major political parties, election officials, and religious leaders. They will be briefed on USAID and U. S. Center for Disease Control (CDC) funded programs in Zimbabwe.
