PAS Harare on the Road for International Education Week

PAS celebrated International Education Week through a very successful educational and cultural outreach trip to Zimbabwe's smaller cities of Bulawayo, Gweru and environs. The Educational Advisor and Senior Cultural Advisor made joint presentations on PhD study and the Fulbright program to crowds of more than forty lecturers each at two public universities. They launched the Paintbrush Diplomacy project, an art and writing exchange program at three elementary schools in diverse settings in Bulawayo. The Educational Advisor made three school based presentations on how to apply to study in the US at high schools, including one at a rural boarding girls high school, reaching over 120 advanced level high school students in these presentations. PAS met with a wide variety of contacts at their organizations to discuss programming possibilities and areas of future cooperation. This highly productive outreach trip resulted in strengthening of Embassy contacts city as well as developing new contacts outside of the capital... November 17th 2005
