Ambassador Dell farewell tour to Bulawayo
On Monday June 18, 2007, at 10 am, Paul Engelstad, Public Affairs Officer at the U.S Embassy, will host a media roundtable with journalists from Bulawayo at the Bulawayo Club. Ambassador Dell will lead the discussion where he is expected to address, among other issues, U.S.- Zimbabwe relations and his term as Ambassador in Zimbabwe. The roundtable is strictly by invitation and the briefing by Ambassador Dell is on the record.
On Monday June 18, 2007, at 2.15 pm Ambassador Dell will visit the Khami Road Clinic for Opportunistic Infection/Anti Retroviral Therapy (OI/ART). Early this month, the U.S. Embassy announced an increase in its support to the health sector in Zimbabwe. The new support, which is worth US$18 million will be channeled through the Ministry of Health and Child Welfare and is expected to benefit an additional 40,000 Zimbabweans living with HIV and AIDS.
At 3.15 pm Ambassador Dell will visit the Queen Elizabeth School. The orphanage is home to a number of vulnerable children many of whom have HIV/AIDS. Both visits are open to the media.
